Next SF Drupal Users Group: January 12

Posted on Dec 29, 2008

Lets Kick off 2009 right!

The agenda for the January SFDUG meeting will be a Web Site Case Study and Themes.

The case study we will be looking at this month will be:

Industry Standard Web site roll out using Drupal.

Presented by: Baldwin Louie the Director, Technology.

This will be a great peek into what it takes to roll out a large high traffic web site.

Themes Presentation:

Jason from MagicSpark will be doing his presenation on the zen theme and how to setup and configure it.

This will be a great presentation for those of us who are wondering how to use the Zen theme and who have theme development questions in general.

Jason will be making the same presentation at Druplacon in Washington – so if you are not making it to Washington this is a chance to get a really quality presentation from a very knowledgeable Drupal community member.

We will have beer, if anyone would like to bring anything else feel free.

If you have anything theme related which you would like to present please let me know and I will get add you to the list of presenters.

RSVP here on Upcoming!

San Francisco Drupal users group Dec. 8 2008

Posted on Dec 10, 2008

We held the last SFDUG meeting of the year at Parisoma on the 8th.   I am making an effort to really galvanize the San Francisco / Bay Area  Drupal community and get as many people as possible to come to the meetings.  If you are reading this and you have an interest in Drupal or you are a Drupal expert come to our next user group meeting.

You can RSVP  to the upcoming meetings and read about what the topic will be here:  http://www.meetup.com/SFDUG-San-Francisco-Drupal-Users-group/

For the last meetup of 2008 we did lightning talks giving anyone an opportunity to talk about Drupal.   We had a really great turn out.

I want thank everyone who came last night and I hope to see you all next month January 12 2009 for the first meetig of the year.

Hello All,

We are excited to announce that Gabe Benveniste of SonicLiving will be the featured speaker at our next Musi2k, on December 18.

A little about SonicLiving:

“SonicLiving was founded in 2006 by former Pixar employee, Gabe Benveniste. SonicLiving is a concert tracking tool and social network that syncs with iTunes, Pandora, and Last.fm to find local concerts based on a user’s personal taste, anywhere in the U.S, with plans to go abroad in the near future. The Bay Area start-up has long been the only service of its kind to integrate with Pandora. The new Pandora concerts feature is powered by SonicLiving’s API (http://sonicliving.com/about/api), which is now available for both commercial and non-commercial use. The company is currently bootstrapped and seeking its first round of funding. For more information about the SonicLiving API, press, or general inquiries, contact press@sonicliving.com <mailto:press@sonicliving.com>. SonicLiving is headquartered in Emeryville and on the web at www.sonicliving.com <http://www.sonicliving.com/>

Please rsvp at our post on Upcoming. See you there!
