PEETCH Is A Centralized Platform That Increases Visibility For Speakers, Conferences

Earlier this week Sam Hickmanna recent addition to the pariSoma coworking family – gave us the low down on his latest venture – PEETCH.COM. Conference speakers today use multiple platforms for sharing their content – videos on Youtube, slides on scribd, ideas on LinkedIn and then some on their wordpress, tumblr blogs. The end result? Content gets fragmented, forcing the viewers and fans to go to multiple places to access and consume all the content. This can be both exhausting and annoying to the end users.

It is this problem that PEETCH.COM seeks to solve, with it’s centralized repository for sharing content generated and published by speakers and conferences.

peetch for speakers conferences one stop site for sharing pic

On PEETCH.COM, speakers and conference organizers can easily consolidate all their content and provide a single unified interface for their consumers (the conference attendees, speaker fans and other peeps). The users  – speakers and influential peeps – can easily upload and share their presentations in minutes and the visitors can then simultaneously watch videos, slides, provide feedback in the form of comments, votes subscribe and share all from within peetch.com

Business Model?

Peetch.com operates on a freemium model. So starter packages are free, and as you scale up, you pay a very reasonable monthly fee for the service.

Paid subscribers – mostly made up of the speakers, entrepreneurs and influential peeps – can:

  • Live stream their small events
  • Protect their channels for private viewing
  • Organize ticketed online events
  • Fully customize their interface
  • Access advanced metrics of their users / content consumers
  • Monetize their content

Sam tells us that the 1st quarter of this year (2011)  is going to see PEETCH unveil a lot of new cool features. So why wait, check it out!

EasySign enables users to sign any document, from anywhere in the world. If you’ve ever received a document that needed to be signed while you were out of the office, you know how frustrating it can be to find a printer, sign the document, and then scan or fax it back to the sender.

EasySign eliminates that hassle by allowing users to insert signatures, custom text, and timestamps into any PDF, Microsoft Office Document, or image file directly from their iPhone or iPad; which in turn saves money on printing, delivery, and allows for faster turnaround on important forms.

SyncPad is an iOS whiteboard application that allows users to collaborate remotely in real-time. The way it works is very simple: create a room and share the room’s name with the other participants, who can then enter it in their SyncPad application or by visiting http://mysyncpad.com/[room's name]. The users using the application can write on the board or import files such as images and multipage PDFs, making it a great remote presentation tool as well. SyncPad is remote collaboration finally made easy.

A French Serial Entrepreneur Is The Latest Addition To The pariSoma Family

Sam Hickmann, a serial entrepreneur from France became a coworking member of pariSoma earlier this month. Here, he will be working on his bootstrapped startup  – peetch.com. Over the past 9 years, Hickmann has been involved in several startups in various capacities (mostly as a founder) such as

  1. compare-le-web.com (a web agency specialized in french directories and monetization),
  2. compare-le-net.com (a profitable french portal with many visitors from France, Switzerland and Canada)
  3. supercarLEASE.com (a company that offers leases on sport cars)
  4. Skylab (a real-estate company which buys open-spaces and then leases them to small companies)

Along with all this, Hickmann also founded a talentueux.com – a a web agency focussed on creating websites for tourist offices and city halls in 2001 and later sold it in 2009.

We asked Hickmann what made him come to San Francisco, to which he replied.

I’ve always dreamt of living and working in San Francisco and Silicon Valley. So one day, I proposed to my wife that we should start new adventures here, and she agreed immediately. So here we are!

Next thing you know, Hickmann, his wife and his 6 year old kid landed here in San Francisco!

We will tell you more about Hickmann’s startup peetch later this week. If you can’t wait, check it out here.

Parisoma Member & App Developer Shares Some Numbers & Pricing Tips

pariSoma member Sunil Patro is the creator of EasySign mobile – an iphone, ipad app that helps you digitally sign documents from anywhere in the world. The App launched on the Apple App Store in August of 2010.
I checked in with Sunil to see how his app is doing, and he shared some numbers and stats with me.

  1. Number of signatures per month on EasySign has tripled in last 2 months.
  2. Number of files securely uploaded by the users has doubled in last 2 months.
  3. Revenue has doubled month over month by December of 2010.
  4. The EasySign app has been downloaded in over 80 countries.

This is quite an impressive accomplishment. In addition to the standard list of things that make an app successful, like easy of use, the intutiveness of the user-interface and marketing efforts, I believe that at the core of a paid app’s success is the price of the app.

App that are priced “just right” typically tend to rack up plenty of downloads and sales!

So I asked Sunil about pricing apps also, and he shared some experiences and do’s / don’ts in the following video interview, that I hope other app developers can also benefit from.

Download EasySign App from the App Store here!
