WHO: The event will bring together people working on semantic projects with people in other spaces (media, advertising, science, etc.) to see where ideas and products can solve people’s problems.

IDEA: The idea of Semantic garage is to encourage entrepreneurs and developers to build a network of business practices, open services (APIs) and open code to lower the barrier for planning and developing semantic companies. It also is a network of peers who help each other plan, scale, fund, and monetize semantic start up companies. This meetup it in the spirit of DIY attitude of the statup community. It’s members taking on the jargon laid myth of complexity surrounding the semantic web and break it open for all to benefit.

The first Semantic Garage Meetup will have three demos, plenty of conversation, and diverse crowd.

The presenting companies are:

RadarMail is the result of a $40M DARPA investment in R&D for email productivity. It connects email to other software by pushing task-relevant information found in text into productivity tools such as spreadhseets, todo lists and CRM systems. Variations of the basic product target particular work roles, providing a user experienced designed for a person’s particular tasks, tools and data. Here, we demonstrate RMcore, the role-neutral version of the product.
